We woke up fairly early the next morning and had breakfast with Jamie’s mom. Our second day in Edinburgh was spent doing all the touristy things that we were too embarrassed to do in the company of actual Scottish people. Things such as eating Haggis (which we both agreed is delicious), going to a kilt making shop and subsequently taking over-the-top pictures in kilts, and Marcus buying every single item that bears his Scottish surname: Morrison.

By midday we bid farewell to the fair city and set off for the Lakes. It was on this drive to Cumbria that for some reason Marcus became obsessed with taking pictures of sheep. Literally he took hundreds! I tried to count them to get an accurate number but with each attempt I kept falling asleep.

We arrived to the Lakes just in time for tea and went straight to the home of THE BEST PUB MEAL IN THE WORLD, the Royal Oak. The Yorkshire pudding makes you want to cry and the Lamb with mint sauces is enough to make any cue you have to endure seem less than trivial.

That night we drove around looking for a place to camp, Jenny being our somewhat misleading north star. After several failed attempts it was quite late and we stumbled upon a little site where we hurriedly pitched our tent and got some much needed shut eye.
